“Vibrant research environment, leading the innovative and inclusive Government”

Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA) was established in 1991 as the only national research institute in the field of public administration. KIPA has contributed to the development of the public administrative system of Korea with its excellent research and policy consultation.

Korea Institute of Public Administration has carried out professional research in the areas of public administration and policy such as administrative management, social integration, disaster and safety management, regulatory reform, and government performance evaluation. Furthermore, KIPA contributes to the development of the international community through international development projects that promote consulting, education and research for enforcing the administrative capacities of developing countries.

Korea is currently in a critical turning point both internally and externally. In order for Korea to take a leap towards becoming a developed country, we must alleviate socioeconomic disparity and discrimination, replace our worn out development engine and transform the Cold War structure of the 70 years of division into a peace regime. We are at a point in time where a trusted government that can reach consensus on various social issues and an open government that cooperates with the people are very much needed.

Korea Institute of Public Administration will lead the way to realize viable and sustainable policy alternatives by exploring and researching government innovation based on the Government's national values: Fairness, Inclusion and Innovation. In addition, KIPA will review the duties undertaken by the Government, and maximize research staff’s competence to carry out projects that will propel South Korea forward as a developed country in excellence.

With a vibrant research environment, Korean Institute of Public Administration will lead the innovative and inclusive Government.

Thank you.

President of the Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA)
