The Korea Institute of Public Administration (KIPA) held the 「2nd KIPA-GDI Joint Colloquium」  at the main conference room of KIPA’s New Building on May 27, in collaboration with the Global Development Institute for Public Affairs (GDI) at Seoul National University. This event was a follow-up to the '2025 First International Development Cooperation Policy Seminar' held in April, designed to deepen the discussions and promote interdisciplinary exchange.

Held under the theme “Transition Toward a Sustainable Future: Climate Change and Industrial Strategy in International Development Cooperation,” the colloquium aimed to provide insight into the balance between environmental and industrial policy in the field of international development cooperation, and to explore strategic directions for setting the key goals of Korea’s 4th Basic Plan for International Development Cooperation.

Dr. Soyoung Lim (Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade) delivered a presentation titled “Trends in Climate and Environmental Issues in Development Cooperation and Korea’s Response.” The discussion was chaired by Dr. Seungheon Han (KIPA), and panelists included Prof. Changyong Choi (Seoul National University), Senior Research Fellow Jaeho Lee (KIPA), Director Dohyun Park (KOICA), Prof. Yusun Kim (Seoul National University), and Research Fellow Ga-young So (KIPA). The panelists engaged in in-depth discussions on the evolving global landscape of environmental issues—particularly the impact of climate change and disasters—and examined Korea’s effective response strategies in the context of international development cooperation.
