Korea Institute of Public Administration (President Huck-ju Kwon) welcomed officials from the Government of Iraq on Thursday, July 10 in the main conference room of KIPA’s new building.
This visit was organized as part of the KOICA Global Training Program, which invites officials from the Government of Iraq to Korea to enhance their professional capacity in development cooperation through lectures and site visits to leading institutions. As part of this program, the delegation requested to visit KIPA to learn more about its international cooperation projects, which led to this meeting.
The event was attended by President Huck-ju Kwon, Vice President Hwan Seong Lee, Senior Research Fellow Jaeho Lee of the Center for International Development Cooperation, and Chief Researcher Eun-A Pyo, who also serves as Team Leader of the Public Relations Team, as well as Senior Researcher Sol Kim from the same team. Also in attendance was the 13-member delegation from the Government of Iraq, led by Rawaa Hussein Jawad AlMeammar, Assistant Director General of the Administrative and Finance Department at the General Secretariat, along with officials from the Ministry of Planning, the General Secretariat, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the session, Senior Research Fellow Jaeho Lee delivered a presentation highlighting key cases and insights on international cooperation initiatives undertaken by KIPA. The officials from the Government of Iraq expressed considerable interest in the development cooperation projects implemented by Korea’s national research institutes and actively participated in a constructive Q&A session, drawing comparisons between Korea’s experiences and their own national context.
Through this visit, KIPA reaffirmed its commitment to sharing Korea’s experiences and expertise in public administration with global partners and expressed its dedication to further strengthening capacity-building and collaborative exchanges in the future.
