국문초록
국무총리실 산하 국책연구기관인 한국행정연구원에서는 대한민국의 역대 정부들이 어떤 정책을 어떤 배경에서 추진했으며, 어떤 성과를 냈는가를 재조명하기 위해 편찬사업을 계획하고 추진하여, 2015년 "대한민국 역대 정부: 주요 정책과 국정운영"이란 제목으로 전체 8권의 한글판 서적을 발간하게 됐습니다.
2013년 말부터 계획·추진된 한글판 편찬사업에는 한국행정연구원 내외에서 총 80명의 학자가 참여하여 이승만 정부부터 이명박 정부까지 우리나라 역대 정부의 주요 정책과 국정운영의 현상들을 객관적이며 종합적인 안목에서 재조명하고 분석했습니다. 세부 주제는 한국행정연구원에서 선정했으나, 각 세부 주제의 집필 방향과 내용은 각 집필위원들의 분석 시각과 판단에 맡겼습니다.
본 영문 단행본(The Korean Government: Policies and Administration 1948～2013)은 발간한 8권 한글판을 요약•정리해서 다시 영문으로 번역한 것입니다. 이 책은 제1장 이승만/장면 정부부터 제8장 이명박 정부까지 총 8장으로 구성되어 있습니다. 또한 서론과 결론 부분도 있습니다. 이 책에는 과도 정부였던 허정 내각과 최규하 대통령 재임기를 제외한 대한민국 역대 정부의 주요 정책과 국책사업 그리고 정부개혁의 내용이 모두 수록되어 있습니다.
